2010 Registration
Registration forms will be available on the website soon. Please check back.
Registration will be held March 13 and March 20, 2010 at the
William “Bill” Clough Baseball/Softball Complex from 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m
Every player will be placed on a team.  You may also mail your registration form with a check or money order (Payable to Murphysboro Baseball Inc.) to
Murphysboro Baseball, Inc., P.O. Box 106, Murphysboro, Illinois 62966

Late sign-ups are possible, but will be based on the availability of slots on team rosters.  Parents are not to contact coaches requesting that your child be placed on a certain team.  Only the Commissioner may be contacted with this request.  If your child is picked by a coach that, in your opinion, is unsatisfactory and your request is not granted, you may choose to have M.B.I. refund your registration fee.
The M.B.I. summer baseball/softball program helps more than 600 children
play baseball and softball each year.
Please remember the goal of M.B.I. is to provide playing fields, equipment
and adult supervision which ultimately lend children the opportunity to
play baseball and softball with their peers.

MBI 2009 Season
Baseball and softball season at the MBI Bill Clough complex is almost here!  Soon, you will hear the crack of the bats and smell the aroma of hot dogs and popcorn signaling the start of another summer of fun at the ball fields.

MBI is a privately held corporation, with no taxpayer support.  A 14 member board of directors governs the organization, and the complex relies on volunteer labor and fundraising to survive.  It costs approximately $150.00 per player to support the baseball and softball programs, far more than the sign up fees paid by the players.  The concession stand, Barbeque Day, private donations, and fundraising make up the balance of MBI’s budget.

A new option to fundraising this year is the opportunity to “buy out.”  Paying double the sign up fee relieves the player from the initial fundraising campaign (selling cookie dough, etc.)  Concession stand duty and involvement in Barbeque day are still required.

It is never too early for kids to learn to give back to the community, and parents can teach by example by getting involved at MBI.  Remember that MBI is dedicated to teaching good sportsmanship, developing athletic ability, and having fun!
